What Digital Skills Do Employers Want?

If you are searching for an answer to questions like how can I advance my digital marketing career or what skills do I need to be a digital marketer, then this post is for you.

We are living in a digital world. Just see where you’re reading my blog post right now - without that internet-enabled phone, tablet, or computer, you perhaps would never reach this article.

Now, frankly speaking, that I’m a bit old-fashioned. That is why I prefer reading printed newspapers, storybooks rather than reading with a Kindle. Likewise, talking in person rather than through social media is what am I feel more comfortable.

I’m not claiming that everyone can be taught anything through online classes, but starting should not be a problem these days. The future isn’t that bad after all.

To get you on track, here are 10 courses you can take - starting today - to advance your digital marketing knowledge, to stay ahead of the crowd (and even add some skills to your resume) in the competitive job market.

1. Social media marketing with YouTube and Instagram


You perhaps mention "proficient in YouTube and Instagram" in your resume about posting photos and videos of you and your friends or family members, but do you actually know how to approach these social platforms professionally? Or even Facebook and Twitter?

If your company does anything with video content or images, it might be in your favor to learn how marketing can be done profitably on these channels.
